Shojiro Harada

Shojiro Harada is an advisor to the president at AMTECH International. In this position, he is responsible for support and advice to AMTECH management. Harada also leads AMTECH’s new operational consulting sub-business unit.

Harada joined AMTECH in April 2007 after a 37-year career serving the automotive industry, with a particular focus on Japanese OEMs. From 2000 to 2007, Harada was chief engineer of the Purchasing Division at Honda Motor Co, Ltd. Prior to this, he was director of automotive development at Honda R&D of Americas in Marysville, Ohio, and before that, he was chief engineer and manager of Honda’s Technical Research Department in Torrance, California.

From 1987 to 1993, Harada was chief engineer in the Electronics Development Department at Honda’s R&D facility in Tochigi, Japan. He began his professional career in 1970 as an engineer at Honda’s R&D Facility in Wako, Japan.

Harada, who is fluent in English and Japanese, earned a bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering from the Institute of Technology in Hokkaido, Japan. He is a member of the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) and has served on the JAMA Purchasing Committee.
